Relatability. Every Punjabi knows a couple whose wedding got delayed because of a family argument over a photo or a meal. The film captured the absurdity of honor politics. Sonam Bajwa delivered her finest performance, shedding the glam-doll image to play a sharp-tongued, educated woman who refuses to be a doormat.
This film is not trying to be deep. It is pure, masala entertainment. The cinematography is bright and colorful, perfect for the festive season. The supporting cast (Prince Kanwaljit Singh as the fake father) is hilarious. Harnaaz Sandhu is surprisingly good for a debut—she holds her own against Sargun Mehta. The negatives: the songs are forgettable except for the title track. The plot is so thin that if you think about it for two seconds, it falls apart. But for a Diwali release, it was exactly what the doctor ordered: no stress, just smiles.
