Just when you think it’s all comedy and brotherly banter, Ravi Mama strikes. In a shocking sequence, he guns down Anthony during a temple festival, frames Amar for the murder, and leaves Akbar for dead. The screen freezes on Amar being handcuffed and screaming, (My younger brother... I must save our brother!). The screen goes black, and the title card slams: Part 1 Ends.

The plot thickens with the arrival of Ravi Mama (an electrifying cameo by Mammootty), a ruthless gold smuggler from Kerala who runs the city’s black market. When the brothers accidentally intercept a consignment of fake gold meant for Ravi’s rival, they don’t realize they’ve stepped into a war zone.

Part 1 of this cult classic Masala entertainer kicks off in the vibrant, crowded lanes of Mumbai, where three brothers—Amar (Prithviraj), Akbar (Jayasurya), and Anthony (Indrajith)—live as small-time, lovable rogues. Orphaned young, they’ve carved a niche running a roadside "Ummachi’s Dosa Camp" by day and hustling local goons by night. Their bond? Unbreakable. Their motto? "Mumbai makkale, njangal dhosth aanu!" (Mumbai people, we are your friends!).
