While often confused as being the same band, their story is one of friendship, musical experimentation, and a shared mission to bring rock music to the Brazilian church in the 1990s. Who Were Amigos Pela Fé? Amigos Pela Fé was more of a musical movement than a traditional band. Formed in the mid-1990s, the group consisted of some of the biggest names in Brazilian Christian music at the time: Alex Gonzaga (vocals, keyboards), Pr. Lucas (guitar, vocals), and Benny Cordeiro (guitar). Later, Sérgio Lopes —one of Brazil’s most celebrated gospel songwriters—also became a core member.
