For years, I practiced a very loud, very public version of body acceptance. I said all the right things. But in private? I changed in the dark. I avoided mirrors. I never went swimming without a oversized t-shirt. My "body positivity" was theoretical—it existed only if I kept my clothes on.

In a clothing-optional space, the social armor is gone. You can't hide behind a designer logo or a "sloppy mom bun" aesthetic. You also can't compare your "behind the scenes" to someone else's "highlight reel." 1. Neutrality comes before Positivity. We are told to love every inch of ourselves. That’s a huge ask. Naturism starts smaller: It’s just a body. That scar, that softness, that asymmetry? It’s simply the vessel carrying you through life. Once you stop judging it, you don't have to worship it.
