The Japanese Flying Fairy is distinctly different from the international release. It features a different UI, a harder original difficulty curve, a unique "Friend Summon" system that relies heavily on local StreetPass (which is now defunct), and the original pacing for the controversial second half of the game. Unless you are a die-hard historian or fluent in Japanese, the widely available Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies (the international version) is the superior gameplay experience.
