By the time played its closing piano chords, the sun had shifted. The room was orange. The file was finished.
started with its distorted, lurching guitar. But in FLAC, the distortion had texture. It was frayed rope. And when the chorus hit— "I've got nothing to hide / I've got nothing to say" —I heard the crack in his voice. Not a vocal effect. A real, human crack.
