"Kichikuou Rance," which translates to "The Cruel Prince Rance" in English, is a Japanese eroge (adult-oriented) visual novel game developed by the game production company, Minori. The game was first released on December 23, 2004. It is known for its intricate storyline, engaging characters, and, as with many eroge games, adult content.
Given that the game is produced by a Japanese company and initially released in Japan, it was naturally developed in the Japanese language. This presented a barrier for English-speaking fans who wished to play and enjoy the game but were not proficient in Japanese. In response to the demand from these fans, an English patch was created. The patch, when applied to the game, translates the in-game text, including scenario text, character names, and UI elements, into English.
