The nymph thanked Masha: “You have saved the heart of the forest. In return, I grant you a gift.” She brushed her icy hand over Snyag’s tiny fur, and the mouse’s whiskers turned a shimmering silver. From that moment on, the Siberian mouse could —a tiny guardian with a mighty purpose.
Masha remembered a legend: “Speak the name of the forest, and the guardian will listen.” She stepped forward and sang the ancient phrase: “Тихий лес, спи, спи, в твоих ветвях — жизнь, Пускай не будет зимы, пока в сердце свет!” The snow‑bear’s eyes softened.
