As the crew tries to uncover the truth behind the Megalodon's return, they are confronted by an even bigger threat - a swarm of massive, genetically modified sharks that have been created by a rogue scientist. The team must fight for survival and find a way to stop the sharks before they wreak havoc on the world's oceans.
The story takes place a few years after the events of the first film. Jason Maybaum (Cliff Curtis) and a team of scientists, including Dr. Minway (Jessica McNamee) and Suyin Zhang (Ruby Rose), embark on an underwater expedition to explore the deepest parts of the ocean.
