“He talked too much,” Naruto said, shrugging. “Like, a villain monologue. Who does that?”
Jon stared at the fist for a moment, then awkwardly bumped it with his own.
The Night King shattered. Every Walker within a mile shattered with him. The wights fell like puppets with cut strings, and the long winter died with a sigh. Jon found him sitting on a broken piece of the Wall, looking out at the sunrise. Dawn had finally come. The snow was already melting.

Naruto laughed, soft and tired. “Nah. I don’t want a throne. Thrones make people like Sasuke—all broody and obsessed with revenge.” He glanced at Jon. “You’d be good at it, though. The ruling thing.”
Then he squeezed.
And with a whoosh of displaced air, the Ghost of Winterfell was gone. “He talked too much,” Naruto said, shrugging
“North of what?”
Jon almost smiled. “All three. But the monsters come with the snow.” Three moons turned. The black-haired boy— man , Jon corrected himself, after he’d seen him fight—became the strangest, most terrifying weapon the North had ever wielded.
“I’ve been waiting,” Naruto said, cracking his neck. “For a real fight.” He looked back at Jon, and for a moment his eyes flickered red. “Don’t let anyone step past me.” The Night King shattered
“Westeros.”
Naruto blinked. Then he laughed—a bright, loud sound that echoed off the grey stones. “Sasuke’s going to be so pissed. I told him that jutsu had too many hand signs.” He stretched, and Jon saw a coiled power beneath the casual movement, a churning ocean held behind a dam of flesh and bone. “Alright, Mr. Broody McBroodington. What’s the local trouble? Bandits? Evil warlords? Giant monsters?”
And stopped.
