Investigating, the Sailor Guardians discover that the bus is being used by a Cardian (a monster created by the Makaiju Tree’s energy, though in this arc, the enemy is the Black Moon Clan’s Rubeus). The Cardian, named (a fire-based monster), absorbs human life energy to send back to the Makaiju. Chibiusa, the mysterious pink-haired girl from the future,
During the fight, the bus disappears with Amaderasu, Usagi, and Chibiusa on board. The other Guardians cannot follow. Just when Amaderasu overpowers Sailor Moon, a new Sailor Guardian appears: (Rei Hino), who had been training at her grandfather’s temple. She uses her attack "Burning Mandala" to destroy the Cardian and save Usagi and Chibiusa.
