The Bible became the "Queen of Translations," and for the first time, the soul of the Armenian people had a permanent, written home. The language became the bedrock of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the shield that preserved the nation through centuries of foreign rule—Byzantine, Ottoman, Persian, and Russian.
