One night, Kenzie discovers Dante rifling through Mark’s old safe. Instead of calling Sloane, she confronts him. Expecting violence, she gets charisma. Dante tells her the truth (or a version of it): “Your father stole from my family. I’m here to take back what’s mine.” He shows her forged documents. He then makes Kenzie a proposition: Help me get the money, and I’ll give you half. You’ll never need Sloane again.

In the final act, Sloane doesn’t call the police. She decides to play a game of her own. Using her dancer’s body control and years of watching Mark negotiate, she stages a fake breakdown.
