New Age: The Croods 2 A
Sandy burps. Then, for the first time, she points at Dawn’s glowing necklace—a soft, pulsing gem the Bettermans use for light. Dawn clutches it. “No. This is mine . It’s an heirloom. It means family.”
Sandy stops biting. Her eyes go wide. She wriggles closer and rests her tiny, rock-hard head on Dawn’s shoulder.
A stalactite falls. Dawn screams. Sandy eats the stalactite.
Phil smiles. “I’ll draw the blueprints tonight.” the croods 2 a new age
It’s a luminous cavern. Glowing mushrooms pulse like hearts. A hot spring bubbles in the center. Sandy immediately tries to eat a mushroom, a rock, and Dawn’s hair—in that order.
Sandy points up. A root system—weak from the quake—dangles near a crack in the ceiling. Too high for one. But if Dawn stands on Sandy’s shoulders (horrifying for Dawn, hilarious for Sandy)…
The hole seals behind them.
Sandy’s lip quivers. She pulls a scrap of fur from her loincloth—a piece of Eep’s old tunic. She holds it out.
As the chair crumbles, so does the cliffside beneath the dining pavilion. The ground opens with a roar. In the chaos of falling figs and rolling woolly mammoths, two figures tumble into a newly formed sinkhole: (feral, four years old, bites first and never asks questions) and Dawn Betterman (fluffy, sweet, has never touched dirt without a gardening glove).
But Sandy just growls. She’s a creature of pure instinct. Dawn is a creature of pure list . She pulls out her charred stick (courtesy of Guy) and tries to make a list: “1. Don’t get eaten. 2. Find ladder. 3. Teach cave-girl to use napkin.” Sandy burps
Sandy steals Phil’s toupee. She does not hum. She eats it.
Roll credits over a Thunk-produced remix of Dawn’s lullaby.
For the first time in her life, Sandy Crood does not attack. She listens. It means family
Dawn stares. “You… crunched a rock.”
