But Iron-Tusk laughs. "Too late. My blood drips into the spring!"
Iron-Tusk’s spies see the glow. The inn erupts into chaos.
The warlord —a brutal former Red Guard commander turned bandit king—has learned of the lotus. He arrives at the temple with a hundred soldiers, demanding it.
Lotus reveals the truth: The Crimson Moon wants to seal the Eternal Qi Spring forever—because it doesn’t grant immortality. It resurrects the dead as mindless, flesh-hungry jiangshi (hopping vampires). Iron-Tusk wants to raise an army of jiangshi to conquer China. The Golden Lotus -Jackie Chan 1974- -CHN-
In 1974 China, a humble martial arts librarian named Jackie is hired to protect a mystical golden lotus statue, only to discover it holds a secret map that both a ruthless warlord and a seductive ghost from his past will kill to possess.
"And the woman?"
The statue is a fist-sized golden lotus flower, petals etched with micro-script visible only under moonlight. For centuries, it has been passed between emperors, rebels, and thieves—not for its gold, but because its petals form a map to the "Eternal Qi Spring," a legendary hot spring said to grant immortality or raise armies of the dead, depending on the legend. But Iron-Tusk laughs
"It is a key," she says. "And the lock is beneath the old Emperor’s tomb. We have three days before the lunar eclipse opens the gate."
Jackie does the only thing he can. He kicks the golden lotus (now a key) into the spring’s center. The lotus melts, sealing the spring forever. The jiangshi crumble. Iron-Tusk sinks into the mud, screaming.
Jackie smashes the golden lotus against a stone altar—not destroying it, but rearranging its petals into a lock mechanism. The floor opens. Below: the Eternal Qi Spring, glowing a sickly green. Iron-Tusk dives for it. Jackie grabs his ankle. Lotus drives a sword through the warlord’s shoulder. The inn erupts into chaos
He takes refuge in a riverside inn, "The Drowning Eel." There, he meets a mysterious woman: (played by a young Cheng Pei-pei or similar wuxia star). She’s beautiful, silk-voiced, and her eyes hold a cold, familiar glint.
"Little Jackie," she says. "You still hide your best moves."
The temple’s head monk, Abbot Wei, summons Jackie. "The Golden Lotus has returned."
Jackie blinks. "The statue that… weeps at midnight?"
