Chinnu led him to a deep well. She pointed inside. “Look, they are right there!”
“Aha! You will be my lunch,” growled the wolf.
Chinnu trembled but thought quickly. She said, “Dear wolf, I am old and thin. But if you wait, I can show you a place where three fat goats live. You can eat all of them!”
Splash! The wolf fell into the cold water and couldn’t climb out. Chinnu ran away safely, laughing.
The wolf peered into the water and saw his own reflection. Thinking it was another wolf with goats, he shouted, “I’ll get them first!” and jumped in.
The wolf’s mouth watered. “Where? Take me there!”
In a small village, a goat named Chinnu was grazing on a hill. Suddenly, a hungry wolf jumped in front of her.
